How to Sew a Bee Button on a Makeup Bag
A makeup bag is very useful for storing all your beauty products. But many makeup bags are a little boring – spicing yours up can make your morning routine a whole lot more fun! Try adding a fancy bee button to give your bag an elegant sparkle.
Supplies
Here are the supplies you’ll need to add an adorable bee button to your makeup bag!
- Bee button
- Makeup bag
- Matching thread
- Scissors
- Hand sewing needle
How to Sew a Bee Button on a Makeup Bag
First, thread your hand sewing needle with a double layer of thread approximately 10 inches long.
Knot the thread tails together, then trim away the excess thread below the knot.
Set the needle aside for a moment and play with the placement of the button on the makeup bag. Don’t be afraid to place it off-center or at an angle. No one said it needed to be straight!
Once you’re happy with the placement of the bee button, hold the button in place with one hand and grab the needle and thread with the other hand.
Then, push the needle up from the inside of the makeup bag to the outside just to one side of the button shank.
Pull the thread taut, then push the needle through the shank of the button and back down into the fabric.
Again, pull the thread taut. Then, repeat this process to sew through the shank of the button 4 or 5 more times.
Finally, cut the thread near the needle, then knot the thread tails with a double or triple knot on the inside of the makeup bag.
Trim away the excess thread tails. Your makeup bag now has some fun sparkle to brighten up your mornings!
